Sérénité panties [Presentation article]

The release of Serenity was not easy for me: due to the current Covid crisis, I hesitated until the last moment to present it to you.

I even asked for your opinions on Instagram. I had decided to wait.

And then finally, thanks to your many messages telling me that a little levity wouldn’t hurt in these troubled times, here it is!

“Sérénité” (= serenity)… couldn’t it be a little sign of fate when I decided to name it that? In any case, I hope you will enjoy sewing it!

Serenity is a panties very easy to wear every day.

It has just the right amount of lace to be feminine in all circumstances.

When I started thinking about the Serenity panties, my guideline was a design that would allow beginners to get started with no stress.

The Serenity panties are an educational model: thanks to them, you will learn how to sew a crotch gusset worthy of a professional.

You will also learn how to apply an elastic, how to cut and sew lace, etc.

And you will be proud of yourself!

Serenity needs little lace: it can easily help you to use the little scraps that we dare not throw away!

The back is decorated with a lace triangle: its assembly is easy to be accessible even to beginners.

To sew panties, all you need is a simple sewing machine with a zig-zag stitch.

You don’t need a serger or a very sophisticated machine: don’t be afraid to try, you’ll be pleasantly surprised!

What the download folder contains:

Étoffe Malicieuse is here to guide you as closely as possible to your expectations.

That why, the folder you will download contains several documents: An interactive instructions booklet illustrated with numerous clear diagrams (to find out more, click HERE) The pattern in A4/US letter format that you can print directly at home.

The pattern is given with AND without seam allowances. Thanks to the layer system, you can choose!
If you choose to print the pattern without seam allowances, everything is carefully explained in the booklet to add the seam allowances according to the finishes techniques you want to use.

Please note: for lingerie, very few sheets are required. So don’t be afraid to cut and assemble the pattern: it will be very quick to do!

The size lines are made up of different colours, but also different line styles, so you can print in black and white without any worries!

The patterns are layered which allow you to choose which sizes you want to print.

• A “printing the pattern” helper

This part will tell you how to use the layers, how to set up your printer, which pages to print according to the chosen variant…

• A “Stitches and settings” section

This part of the explanations will detail the different stitches used in lingerie sewing.

As the construction progresses, you will also find the small tag giving you indications on which stitch to use.

• A “Fabric elasticity” method sheet

It’s not always easy to find your way around stretchy fabrics… with this document, you will be able to easily classify your fabrics and find out which one is the most suitable for sewing Éternité.

Sewing level

Contrary to popular belief, all you need is a simple sewing machine with a zig-zag stitch.

The construction instructions have been written as clearly as possible. They will guide you step by step with the help of numerous clear diagrams to enable even total beginners to sew their panties.

The pattern has been tested, the explanations have been read and reread…

For the absorbent part, three testers were kind enough to test the panties during that fateful week of the month, prior to its release.
