Éternité the menstrual boyshort [Presentation article]

Hello everyone!

After the great success of Éternité the menstrual-panty, it was quite logical that the shorty would follow in time.

It was not scheduled to be released so quickly, but in view of the many requests from lots and lots of people, I assigned it high priority and here it is!

You may have noticed that I’m quite concerned ecology (hence the constitution of the Malicieuses boxes for example). 

That’s why, Eternity is more than a pattern for me, it’s a commitment, a way of doing my small part.

Whether you want to protect yourself, your daughters or your even granddaughters by stopping using sanitary pads or tampons, or because of their doubtful compositions (if you don’t know what I mean, here are some links: here, there or there), or whether you want to make a gesture for the planet by avoiding more non-recyclable waste: Eternity was designed for you!

Eternity, the menstrual boyshort, is like its sister the panty, designed for the menstrual cycle of women, but also for sneaky leaks.

Eternity is a very easy and fast to sew pattern.

Its design requires no notions apart from elastics and an article is available to help you to choose the right fabrics.

To give you an idea of the difference between the panty and the boyshort, let’s compare the side seams:

The boyshort being more covering, it will be all the more effective for heavy flows, or for nights if you move a lot while sleeping.

As the Eternity panty, the boyshort allows you to sew two differents versions.

The basic version

The first version is quite basic. Efficient and quick to sew, it will be perfect for a first approach to the pattern.

The gusset is of course different from a “standard” boyshort. It is longer so that it can absorb the flow.

As you can see, the boyshort’s back will fit your small back closely:

If you are a fan of the “Cup” (if you are not familiar with it, this article is for you: the menstrual cup), you are not without knowing that the Cup can’t be worn all night long because it would not be emptied and cleaned for too long.

Second variant

That’s why the second variant of Eternity has been designed especially for this purpose.

This variant is fully lined and has NO seams visible from the outside.

For each variant, an adaptation sheet explain how to modify the waist’s height.

You’ll also find all the explanations to go for a more or less high-cut panty front.

In both versions, the thigh openings are finished with fold-over elastic, which makes it easy to accommodate the gusset’s multiple layers of fabrics.

Contrary to popular belief, all you need is a simple sewing machine with a zig-zag stitch.

The construction instructions have been written as clearly as possible. They will guide you step by step with the help of numerous clear diagrams to enable even total beginners to sew their panties.

Tested !

The pattern has been tested, the explanations have been read and reread…

For the absorbent part, three testers were kind enough to test the panties during that fateful week of the month, prior to its release.
